Psychological Support is provided in Psychological Support Points localised in Katowice-Ligota and Zabrze-Rokitnica and online as well.

Detailed information regarding the Psychological Support Points:

Psychological Support Point is located in Katowice-Ligota, at 18 Medyków street, next to the Institute of Theory of Medicine (building D4-2) office no 106 (1st floor, in front of the auditorium A2).

In order to schedule your first appointment, please complete the contact form. After submitting your completed application, a psychologist will contact you by email at the address (in the 365.sum.edu.pl domain) provided on the form.
The psychologist’s office hours will be according to the schedule below. Please note – it is necessary to make an appointment in advance via the contact form.

The Psychological support will be provided on site or on line from January 20th to June 30th, 2026, in the following days:

– Tuesdays from 3:30 pm do 7:30 pm

– Fridays from 3:30 pm do 7:30 pm

– Saturdays from 12:00 pm do 4:00 pm.

Support will not be provided on public holidays and Rector’s days off.

Psychological Support Point is located in Zabrze-Rokitnica, at 19 Jordana street at the Student Dormitorium No 1 in the room no 14 (ground floor).

Students/doctoral candidates with disabilities and those who need professional psychological support in coping with problems, studying at the Medical University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland.

If you are a student/doctoral candidate at the Medical University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland and need psychological advice, you can make an appointment with a psychologist providing psychological support at one of the Psychological Support Points located at the University or online. Contact information and all the details are available after selecting one of the locations: Katowice Ligota, Zabrze Rokitnica. After contacting the psychologist, she will decide whether support is appropriate and schedule an appointment with you. If you’re unable to meet with a psychologist in person, you can schedule an online consultation. IMPORTANT – at the first in-person or online meeting, you must have a valid student/doctoral ID and present it to the psychologist for inspection, in order to confirm your identity and your right to free support.
The Psychologist at both Psychological Support Points also provides support in English for foreigners – students and doctoral candidates of the University with disabilities or those who require professional psychological support in coping with their problems. Psychological consultations are free of charge.

The psychologist employed at both Psychological Support Points provides psychological support as part of psychological counseling. Depending on the problem you report, it may be one, two or more meetings (as decided by the Psychologist). A single meeting lasts 60 minutes. Keep in mind that the psychologist provides support only within a specific scope (within the limits of so-called psychological support), If, however, you need psychiatric help, support in psychotherapy or group therapy, you will receive an appropriate referral. In this case, you should arrange specific assistance yourself.
