From June 8 to 10, the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze hosted the OSCE-I exam for dentistry students for the first time, conducted for both Polish and English Programs.
The Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze has extensive experience in organizing OSCE-style exams; such assessments have been conducted for students of medicine, dentistry, and paramedic studies since 2016.
However, this year’s OSCE-I exam was unique, as it was organized for the first time for second-year dentistry students, for both Polish and English Programs.
The OSCE-I exam serves to verify the practical skills students have acquired during preclinical classes, conducted in a simulated environment.
This year’s edition of the exam was exceptional in many respects. Everyone involved in its organization and participation demonstrated a high level of responsibility, professionalism, and dedication. Special thanks to the academic staff, the team at the Medical Simulation Center, the Dean’s Office staff, and—most importantly—all the second-year dentistry students at the Faculty.
For the first time during this type of exam, a specially designed electronic checklist system was implemented; this streamlined the process and ensured the exam ran smoothly and without interruption.
We sincerely thank everyone involved in preparing and conducting the exam, and we congratulate the students on completing this important stage of their education.
